* Pharmacology is a branch of medicine and is concerned with science of drugs including their origin, composition, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic use, and toxicology, the properties and reactions of drugs especially with relation to their therapeutic value. The Department provides the students with the knowledge of different types of drugs and their effects and to work actively to contribute towards the establishment of the national health goals. The Department trains the students to develop a modern outlook so that they can handle any unforeseen situation or impending eventualities. The Department envisages the application of pharmacodynamics to therapeutics and to acquire the basic principles necessary for the rational use of drugs in daily practice.
