The Department of Microbiology offers a 24-hour microbiology laboratory service to the entire hospital. The Department aims to produce microbiologists of excellent caliber, who have been entrusted with diagnostic skills of infectious etiologies. With the rapid advancement of technology and its application to diagnostics, we provide timely and accurate microbiology support where precise and efficient diagnosis can make a difference in patient-care and management, thereby saving innumerable lives.
The services are divided into sections, with a faculty member overseeing and authorizing the work in each section. It has the facilities for isolation and identification of various pathogenic microbes and determining their antimicrobial susceptibility.
* Clinical Laboratory is a part of the Central Laboratory of the hospital, fully equipped with latest equipment’s of advanced technology with automated diagnostic facilities for routine microbiological investigations in Bacteriology, Serology, Immunology, Parasitology, Mycology, Virology & TB Culture, Blood Culture System and Drug Sensitivity Testing of Bacterial Isolates.
